Presidential Primary Election: January 8, 2008. Polls will be open from 6 a.m. - 8 p.m.
LEGAL NOTICE: The Registrar of Voters will be in session daily, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (closed December 24 and December 25) and on Saturday, December 29, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., at the Office of the City Clerk, City Hall, 229 Main Street, for additions and corrections to the checklist. This will be the last day that the City Clerk may accept voter registration applications or make corrections to the checklist prior to the Presidential Primary Election on January 8, 2008. New voters may also register at the polls on Election Day. Please note that October 12, 2007 was the last day that a registered voter could change party affiliation before the 2008 Presidential Primary.
The City Clerk’s Office is responsible for the recording and management of all vital records involving births, marriages, and deaths occurring within the City. The Office also conducts all local, state and national elections; issues many types of licenses including dog licenses, hawkers and peddlers licenses, raffle permits, and entertainment licenses; and maintains many of the City’s most important records. Internally, the Office of the City Clerk views itself as an information source and communication conduit between the general public and City Government. The City Clerk's Office is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., except on holidays.
